From Drew Champion

Fred-

I've been known to jump into things quickly. Like that one time when I found a new swimming hole near that abandoned nuclear power plant or the time I immediately ate that thing off the ground that I thought looked like chocolate cake. Sometimes "rushing" into things has been a not-so-smart decision and has yielded negative results. But other times it's been some of the best decisions I've made, resulting in positive results. One of those positive results was agreeing to go to dinner for the first time with you and Kirsten. It's rare for me (because I can be what some kids would call a "really big a-hole") when it comes to meeting new people, to actually enjoy myself. And at that first dinner, I completely enjoyed myself. And I wasn't even drunk. From that dinner and subsequent hangouts and gatherings, I have felt that you and I have been friends for years instead of months. I think it's a special thing when two families find each other and there's so much that clicks between them (for other examples see the Mountbattens and the Windsors). Your friendship, although in such a brief time, has meant a great deal to me. So let me be the first (yes, the first!) to wish you a very happy 40th birthday. And I promise next time, if I find a thing on the ground that looks like chocolate cake, I'll share it with you.

Your friend,
Drew
